The 2023 State Leadership and Skills Conference is the premier CTE event in the state of Florida. The top students in over 100 different skill and leadership competitions gather to compete against their peers for a chance to advance to the National Leadership and Skills Conference. These competitions allow students to hone their technical skills, connect with business and industry, and become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens.

 

In addition to competitions, students are invited to participate in other conference activities to further their careers and connect them with potential future employers. The Meet the Employer Career Fair, where more than 50 local, state, and national companies are looking to recruit and hire students for immediate job openings. The CONNECTED Expo and Trade Show showcases business and industry partners and their products, services, and career opportunities. 

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 6, 2023

SCHOOL REGISTRATION PAYMENT DEADLINE: March 20, 2023

Students must be joined SkillsUSA members prior to February 1 to be eligible for competition.
Some regions have earlier deadlines; check with your Regional Coordinator for more information.

Lodging

The official conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.

Room rate is $168 per room night, plus applicable taxes and fees, with up to 4 to a room.
Reservations must be made directly with the hotel.

Opening Ceremony

Schools will pick up registration materials, including name badges, meal tickets, conference t-shirts, and more. One advisor per school should attend.

Opening Ceremony

Florida Theatre

Join us for a high energy session to kick off the conference with state-level awards and recognitions, keynote speaker, and announcements

Closing and Awards Ceremony

Doors open at 7:30 AM. Session will be streamed via Facebook Live and other social media channels.

NLSC Orientation Meeting

Following Awards and Closing Ceremony

Students advancing to the National Leadership and Skills Conference are required to attend an orientation meeting immediately following the Awards Ceremony. 

Schools Travel Home

Following the Closing and Awards Ceremony, there is a mandatory meeting for all Gold medalists and their advisors to obtain registration information about the National Conference. Information regarding the national conference will also be distributed via the Tuesday Times prior to the state conference.
